This Past Year- Module 11
I want to start off by saying that I do acknowledge that this year has not been the easiest. I know this pandemic has impacted us in many ways and I know people who have been affected by/gotten COVID. I am still content with some of my experiences this year though.
I have to admit, I did try the quarantine trends such as
whipped coffee, trying out new recipes, and Tiger King. I watched a lot of
shows and movies this past year! I also made a good amount of pour paintings
and some embroidery canvas art. I also practiced mehndi (or henna) designs. One
thing I had fun with was that my family and I would play different card games throughout
the week. I don’t necessarily do all these things consistently, but they have
helped me be occupied and find a way to have fun.
One of my favorite things I did over the summer last year
was shadowing and helping at a vet clinic. I had shadowed previously before
during winter break, but I was able to do more hands-on stuff and run tests. I
helped pull and administer some vaccines, I started fecal and heartworm tests,
and helped fill prescriptions. I also go to watch many surgeries ranging from
mass removals, to spays/neuters, to a knee surgery, and to even a leg
amputation. Overall, I really enjoyed being in the environment and observing
all the different tasks that go on.
Even though this past year hasn’t been the best, I’m still
glad I was able to shadow and have time to do different activities. I would say
that during this time, I have understood that it’s good to take time for yourself and
relax for a little bit. It’s important to be able to take a break and recharge.
Hi Prutha! I'm glad you got to enjoy your time with your family and take a break. Having that shadowing experience must have been really fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Prutha! I'm kind of mad that I never ended up trying the whipped coffee trend. I also meant to, but never did. However, I also watched Tiger King and did lots of baking. I am happy to hear that you got to use this time to hang with your family and play games! Also, it's awesome that you were able to shadow during all this!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you got to help out at the vet clinic! That must have been a super fun experience, and I'm super jealous that you got to do some hands-on work during the pandemic. I hope things will go better and good luck on whatever you do in the future!
ReplyDeleteAlso, am I the only one who didn't watch the Tiger King during quarantine..???
Hi Prutha!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that taking time for yourself to recharge is very important. It's amazing that you were able to shadow a vet during this time and learn new techniques and skills through that. I also filled the quarantine time with playing board games and watching too much Netflix!
Hello Prutha,
ReplyDeleteI would love to see some of your artwork! I think one thing quarantine gave us was time and it was up to us to determine how to make the most of that time.
